Renato Sandaran 

Renato Sandaran is the author of the book "Police Patrol Operations with Police Communications Systems".

Renato B. Sandaran is a retired police Superintendent (Police Lieutenant Colonel) of the PNP.

Driven by his desire to join the Philippines' police force, he obtained the following degrees:

  • Bachelor of Science in Criminology in 1978
  • Master of Arts in Criminology in 2003
  • PhD in Criminology in 2008

He obtained all the aforementioned degrees from the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR).

Upon his retirement from the Philippine National Police (PNP) where he served for 30 years, he has since been a lecturer in Law Enforcement (LEA) and Crime Detection and Investigation (CDI) at PCCR from 2008 to present.

Likewise, he was appointed as an area chair for the LEA department for the academic year 2012 2013.

Renato Sandaran is also an instructor at the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) training institution of the PNP's uniformed services at Silang, Cavite.

He also teaches at the Master of Science in Criminal Justice program of the Taguig City University. Moreover, he also served as a reviewer for the criminology licensure examinations at the Equipp Review Center.

As an officer with the Manila Police District (MPD), he underwent various police training in the fields of Police Patrol, Vice Control and Organized Crime, Police Intelligence, and Criminal Investigation.

A bemedalled police officer, he was awarded the PNP Commendation Medal (Medal ng Katangi-tanging Gawa) and various police commendations.

Sandaran was thrice assigned as a Police Community Precinct (PCP) Commander. Prior to his retirement, he was the Chief of the Station Investigation and Intelligence Branch (SIIB) at Police Station No.11 in Binondo, Manila.
