President Rodrigo Duterte named Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director, Police Colonel Royina Garma as the next general manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

The main products of the PCSO are the sweepstakes and the lottery games.


Royina Garma will replace PCSO general manager Alexander Balutan who resigned from his post in March amid serious allegations of corruption in the agency.

Balutan, however, denied any involvement in corruption.

Alexander Balutan is a retired 2 Star General of the Philippine Marines.

In a press conference held at Camp Sergio Osmena earlier, Garma said she has availed of early retirement to join PCSO in July.

President Duterte assigned her to lead the Cebu City police in 2018. She had a strained relationship with former Cebu City mayor Tommy Osmena, a known Duterte critic.
