The district of Betis in Guagua, Pampanga, is known for its dukit, or woodcarving, tradition and industry, which have made it a furniture-making and woodcarving center of the Philippines. The barangay of Sta. Ursula is the center of woodcarving in the district, where many well-known woodcarvers hail from, including master sculptors Juan Flores and Presidential Merit Awardee for Ecclesiastical Art Willy Layug.
