San Fernando De Dilao Parish in Paco District

Named after Ferdinand III, the Spanish king who ruled the kingdoms of Castile (1217-1252), Leon (1230-1252), and Galicia (1231-1252). In 1225, he oversaw the battles that reconquered Al-Andalus, formerly a Muslim-held territory in present-day Southern Spain. He (San Fernando) was canonized by Pope Clement X in 1671.

The San Fernando de Dilao Parish in Paco District is also named in his honor.
