Did you know that the Department of Finance (DOF) predates the Philippine Republic?


Founded on April 24, 1897, by the Philippine Revolutionary Government, the Department of Finance (DOF) has undergone various structural and functional overhauls, yet it has nonetheless remained a key department. The Department has stood the test of time, seeing the country through periods of transition and turmoil, even in the face of war and now, a pandemic.


As the country prepares to transition to the next administration, the DOF remains steadfast in its role as the government’s steward of sound fiscal policies. Watch the DOF’s evolution through the years.
