The town of Guagua, Pampanga, is known for having the most beautiful images of the Mater Dolorosa or Our Lady of Sorrows, which are used in their Lenten celebrations.


One of the most notable is the antique ivory Dolorosa of the Limson family of Guagua (known as the Virgen de Soledad), which is hailed as one of the most beautiful Dolorosas in the Philippines and an iconic Lenten image of the town.
